The necessity of ceiling fan is just like heaters in winters while in a gap of months fans generally develop problems which need to be fixed before you can use it. However, installation and other work assuredly require people from outside to fix or remove the fan. While installing a ceiling fan can be easily undertaken at home then why to spend extra and the only thing to remember is the right step and technique when installing ceiling fan.
Installing ceiling fan is as easy as fitting a bulb but few things have to be remembered especially if you are doing it for the first time although it doesn’t require any expertise skill yet one has to be careful. So be ready to accomplish the task of installing a ceiling fan yourself without taking help. Read out the steps and requirement with the help of which you can install ceiling fan.
Tools required:
- Screw driver
- Electrical tape
- Mounting brackets
Method of installation:
- Before starting, switch off the main fixture on which you have to work. Now open the mounting bolts and take down the fixture.
- Disconnect the wires attached in the fixture and keep the nuts aside to use it later.
- Keep the mounting bracket in the electrical hole to attach it and check properly whether bolts are screwed tightly or not. Loose screws can cause the fan to fall in severe conditions, so it is important to check the bolts with care.
- While you fix the wires, hang the fan on the mounting bracket provided with a hook. Fix the wires by following standard colour coding system as white to white, red to red and so on.
- Ground wire is directly attached with main junction box.
- Wrap the ground wire after loosing the screw and again tighten it in such a way that screw holds the ground wire.
- Cover the power connection wires with secure nut and extra wiring is aside by pushing into the electrical box.
- Now attach the fan motor to the mounting bracket with screws. Turn on the switch to check the working of the fan.
- After fixing the main part, it’s the turn of fixing the wings or blades of fan. Attach the blade and then mount the blade assemblies to the fan motor.
- On the switch again and check the working of fan.
