The factors leading to such problems are numerous but the maximum cases held men responsible for infertility and childlessness. Often woman is found least responsible for infertility yet there are factors which cause childlessness in woman such as successive abortions, no periods, insufficient intercourse and many more.
The patriarchal society tend to throw the responsibility of childlessness wholly on the women and men who have a major role in starting a family would be released as innocent. Is it correct to punish a woman for childlessness? Today’s lifestyle has altered everything from food to clothing and from marriage to conceiving as people are more interested in earning and career. This kind of lifestyle often is responsible for infertility caused from poor physical activity, low vigour and libido due to excessive drinking and smoking, low sperm count and using frequent lubricants during sexual activity.
The age of fertilization in woman is 14-25 and in this age woman can achieve higher number of fertilizations. However today most women are conceiving at the age of 30 and more during this age women’s body perhaps unable to bear a child due to various reasons like:
- Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common and worldwide cause for infertility in women. This is caused due to the infection during abortions, early deliveries, intercourse, and using contraceptive devices. The infection occurs in pelvic spreading through the ovary and fallopian tubes which makes impossible for a woman to conceive.
- Polycystic ovary syndrome has affected large percent of women all over the globe being a cause of infertility. In this syndrome woman produces higher level of testosterone and failure of ovary fat and muscle to accept glucose, due to it pancreas produces large amount of insulin which counteract with ovaries and conception.
Other disease which leads to infertility is STD’s like gonorrhea, HIV and syphilis; endometriosis; hormonal problems; ovary problems and weak immunity.
While the conditions in which men were unable to contribute in fertilization can be said as:
Poor sperm quality and low sperm count which can occur due to various conditions such as swollen veins in the scrotum, less developed testes, infection, injuries and side effects of medicines. The poor quality of sperm can’t move properly enough in the right direction which discards the ejaculation and thus causes infertility.
These were the prominent factors responsible for infertility in men including others prostate cancer, impotence, and premature ejaculation, genetic and hormonal defects.
