Pest Control Guide
Pests are the worst thing which can happen in a home as they destroy and pollute food grains and other eateries. Controlling pests is almost a tedious task but it is possible to achieve. Home pests includes rats, termite, mosquitoes and housefly. The most worst are rats and termites, as rats are cautious feeders and debase the exposed food lying anywhere in the house. Termites are other worst feeders of wood and if properly care is not taken they can diffuse to other exposed areas and adjacent things. They can only be control with an effective trap or pesticide.
Getting rid of rodents
Rats have poor vision and work on their four senses i.e. smell, taste, touch and hearing. They don’t contaminate the food in expose area but drag it to their hidden place. People have to be cautious while arranging a trap to catch rat as you need to prepare bait of food in the cage to trap it. Though there are no long term advantages of this trap yet short term tactics can be employed in order to throw them out.
There various products available for killing, trapping and baiting rats. Besides rodenticide and trapping another method of rat control popular today is using electronic rat trap and glue boards. This method is effective and efficient to trap a sneaky rat. Other products includes powdered repellent, liquid repellent and ultrasonic rat repellent
Controlling termites
Termites live in groups of hundred and thousand which destroy and sometimes annihilates the wood leaving no alternative other than replacing. They move in groups of several hundred thousand to millions and eat up the drywood making it hollow and deteriorate.
Symptoms of termite attack
Termite infests the wood and leaves behind the mud-like tunnels and cracks in the wood & wall. Not only wood is their only attacking element rather they can even desecrate walls and plants.
Termite reduction
For termite reduction and prevention various termite oils are applied on the wood before it can be fixed on the wall. But natural oil extracted out of orange peel is considered as least-toxic oil which prevents termite attack in most natural way.
Orange oil is been taken out of orange peel as one might have experienced its irritating aspect when squeeze onto the eyes due to its containing of a component called D-Limonene. This extracted oil is insoluble in water and severely causes irritation in people who are exposed while the application.
Orange oil is considered to be an effective insecticide too as it helps in preventing other pests too as like mosquitoes, flies, ants, crickets and mites.
