Decorating Baby Room on a Budget
If your going to be parents in the coming days or have already become parents and thinking about designing and decorating a room for your little one than it is a good idea that you may first decide upon the budget. Decorating your baby’s room can be fun and on the other hand it could be a tiring and nasty task if you are not a handy and innovative person.
Before gorging upon the things for your baby’s room you must decide that the budget and then start working on it. A low budget baby room is altogether makes you and your wife happy if you happen to save thousands of bucks. Though today in the times of inflation making out a low budget baby room is a difficult task, still you can decorate it compromising on few things.
In small baby’s room many things are used for a short while so it is not always important to buy new things. You can save your money on things that will last longer. Need not purchase everything before the baby arrives though make a list of the things you have to address when the baby arrive.
You can also accept things from other mothers which can be as useful as the new things and otherwise save your money. Many people pass on the things for the other new born baby’s as they are needed only for a short period of time when the baby has outgrown or doesn’t need. If you have friends and relatives whose babies are small you can ask them for their clothes and other things. A baby needs a cradle only for 5 to 6 months after that it can be passed to some other baby.
The next thing you can borrow is crib. If your relative or friend’s child has grown up and doesn’t need crib anymore so you take it. Other places from where you can buy used/second hand things like baby strollers, baby cribs, high seats and car seats are flea market, garage sales and consignment stores. This can be a better idea to save your money.
If you are handy and know some sewing and weaving than nothing is warmer than a hand woven sweater for kids. You can also sew some clothes at home if you have good access on a sewing machine. Give your old furniture a new coat of paint and make your own curtains that may look nice than the purchased ones.
Colours of baby’s room should be bright and simple. The primary colours for baby’s room are red, yellow, pink and blue which can be used throughout his life. Wall papering on the walls is another good idea which can be applied to brighten up baby’s room.
